PLAN REVIEW DIVISION

The plans review division examines building plans to ensure compliance with the fire and life safety code. The Pasadena Fire Marshal follows the guidelines of the International Fire Code 2006 edition, along with the recommendations of the National Fire Protection Association and Life Safety Code.

Fire and Life Safety System plans, Automatic Fire Sprinkler System plans (above ground and under ground), Fire Alarm Plans and Fire Extinguishing sytems plans submitted for review shall be submitted to the Pasadena Fire Marshal's Office located at 1001 Shaw Avenue Suite 200, Pasadena, Texas 77506. 713-475-5575. Plans submitted to the Fire Marshal's Office shall use the Fire Marshal's Plans Review Application

All other plans submitted to the Fire Marshal’s Office for review shall be submitted to the City of Pasadena Permit office located at 1114 Davis Street, Pasadena, Texas 77506 (first floor). 713-475-5575

• Local Amendment – In addition to the requirements of International Fire Code, Automatic Fire Sprinkler Systems are required when the gross square footage of the building or structure exceeds 12,000 square feet.

• Local Amendment - Fire-Flow Requirements for Buildings shall be as listed in Appendix B.

• Local Amendment - Fire Hydrant Locations and Distribution shall be as listed in Appendix C.  

• Local Amendment - Fire Apparatus Access Roads shall be as listed in Appendix D.
